Below are some tips to consider to really make good success out of your blog.
\BE A LITTLE BIT JOBLESS
Yeah right!!! Sounds awkward... But you have to come to terms with the fact that blogging takes a whole lot of your ample, precious time, and so being a successful blogger means dedicating all, or most of that time precious time to it.
Being overly busy and pre-occupied most of the time might just not fit in well with your life as a blogger. Don't get me wrong, blogging also needs funding and financial sacrifices to get it to where you want it to be, so you might want to think about having a good source of income to help you with that. But that source doesn't have to be all-time consuming.
BE PREPARED
Alexander Graham Bell, the Scottish born scientist and innovator, said in one of his quotes;'BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, PREPARATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS'
Now you might wanna have that at the back of your mind before you proceed to start up as a blogger. Many have failed and quit blogging just because they failed to prepare before venturing into it
I have this strong feeling you don't wanna end up like them... YEAH???
You are in a hurry to set up your blog, host it, and put it out there in the blogosphere, just because you feel you have to meet up and start competing with already existing blogs out there and blah! Hell no!
Note that, there'll always be a chance at success for every new blog that comes into existence. So what's the hurry?
Take your time to prepare. Make up your mind about a particular niche you'd like to blog about, make your research on it, ask questions, seek for advice, gather information, reschedule your day-to-day activities to fit in with your life as a blogger, make sure you have everything you need to get you started, and more importantly... have some cash.
You're good to go.
A PEN AND A PAD; YOUR BEST BUDDIES
Well, this might sound a little bit 'Not serious', probably 'Less important' or 'not really useful' to many. But actually this is one of the most important tips for a blogger. You don't need a head butt to remind you that taking down notes, info and ideas that come to your head or fly into your ears, is actually a great idea. So, having a pen and a good, small writing pad to carry around is advisable, as a blogger.
Ideas and useful information would definitely come to you every once in a while, and if you don't write them down when they do, you might find yourselff biting your fingers and trying to crack your head open, much later.
Your brain is not a computer's hard drive. TAKE DOWN NOTES BUDDY!!
Except you really need that head butt...
BLOG FORUMS
Blog forums are a great way to hook up and meet with other bloggers out there, who might also be in your 'niche-field'. There's always room for exchanging of ideas, advertising yourself and your blog, and learning a whole lot of new stuff that you could add to your blog to make it better. Forums like Bloggers.ng and lots more exist to serve that purpose for you.
Get out there and sign up with one
You don't wanna be a blogger-island, now do you??
STAY ORIGINAL
Blogging can be a bit stressful, especially with the fact that you'll have to update your blog content all the time to make it worthwhile for visitors to your blog. Now this is where the 'temptation' of copying and pasting articles from other blogs and websites come in. Yeah, as a matter of fact, it feels quite simple, stress-free and convenient to the 'copy and paste' thingy, but...really dude, 'you really don't wanna be doing that'.
At least not all the time
You could be sued, your blog could be disabled...or worse.
There's nothing more fulfilling than creating your own content from your own ideas. It makes your blog unique, and could save you a whole lot of trouble.
Take your time.
Relax.
And think up ideas for your blog content.
You'd be amazed how much you have packed up in that brain of yours...
Take these tips much seriously and..Voila!! you'd be a successful blogger
